Chi Yang, PhD, MD, DDS, is the chief of Department of Oral Surgery in Shanghai 9th People’s Hospital. He was trained in Shanghai Jiaotong University College of Medicine and gained DDS and MD degree in Shanghai 9th People’s Hospital in 1994，followed the guidance of academician Qiu Weiliu. He then became faculty in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He visited several American university hospitals as UCLA, Mass General Hospital and Maryland University as faculty from 2000 to 2001.

Prof. Yang’ clinical specialty is open surgery and arthroscopic surgery to treat all kinds of temporomandibular joint diseases, complicated joint-skull reconstructions and combined treatment of joint-jaw-occlusion to deal with TMJ disease with jaw deformity and malocclusion. Professor Yang is also the designate Chairman of TMJ Disease and Occlusion Special Committee of Chinese Stomatological Association; standing committee member of Chinese Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery; head of TMJ surgery cooperative group of Chinese Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery; trustee member of the Asian Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon Association; international member of the American TMJ Surgeons Society. He is the managing Editor of China Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Shanghai Journal of Stomatology and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Chinese Oral Medical Research Journal and Chinese Journal of Dental Materials and Devices.

Prof. Yang has been invited to the European and International Conferences as speaker for 18 times including 31 topics in the recent years. He has also been invited for international surgical live demonstration 15 times in 9 countries. 70 international scholars of 24 countries came to Shanghai specially to observe his operation. Professor Yang has accomplished more than 20 scientific research grants, published more than 300 papers including 121 English SCI papers and participated in editing 24 books. He has won the National Invention Award; the Progress Award of Health Science and Technology Ministry; Shanghai Medical Science and Technology Progress Award; Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award. He is the outstanding young teacher in Shanghai. He has applied for 12 patents and got 9 as the first one including 1 international invention patent.

Dr. Yiqun Wu received PhD degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and began his professional career as an oral surgeon. In the late 1990s, he began performing implant-related clinical practice in the Department of Oral Implantology. Dr. Wu has retained a full-time position at Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Dentistry for more than 20 years and is currently professor and the Department Chair of the Second Dental Clinic, Ninth People’s Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Dr. Wu has accumulated extensive experience on complex implant therapy for patients with severe jaw atrophy, especially on precise zygomatic implant technique assisted by real-time navigation system. He has authored textbooks and published more than 70 papers in international peer-reviewed journals. He is Vice Chairman of the Chinese Society of Oral Implantology and Education Delegate of International Team for Implantology (ITI) China Section.

Graduated from Nanjing Medical University with Bachelor degree of Oral Science in 1998. And gained his DMD degree in Endodontics from West China University of Medical Science in 2003. After graduation, Dr. Huang obtained a position as a fulltime faculty in the Department of Endodontics of Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Dentistry, and now is the director of the Endodontics department.

From 2006 to 2007, Dr. HUANG worked in INSA de Lyon, France, as a post-doctor of Unité de Microbiologie et Génétique. His research interest is mainly on the oral microecology, especially on quorum sensing system of oral bacteria. In this field, he is in charge of six projects of Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC grant 82071104; 81570964; 81371143; 81070826; 30872886; 30400497). In 2009, Dr. Huang was awarded a rising-star title from Shanghai Municipal as a young scientist.

From 2014 to 2015, he stayed in the Dental School of University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) as a visiting scholar. Now, Dr. Huang is a certificated board member of the Chinese Endodontic Association. He is specialized in aesthetic restorative and microscopic endodontic treatment.

As a professor in the School of Dentistry, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Dr. Huang is the director of the pre-clinical training program, which contains simulation training courses and intern/resident clinical practice training. He is an advocator of continuing education and gives lectures nationwide. For his excellence in education, Dr. Huang was awarded a Xinling Outstanding Prize in 2017.

Prof. Dr. J. R. Strub, born in 1948, received his D.D.S., Dr. Med. Dent. and Dr. Med. Dent. Habil. (PhD equiv) degrees from the University of Zurich, Switzerland in 1975/1985 and the Dr. h.c. from the National and Kapodistrian University, Athens, Greece, in 2008.
He was a Visiting Assistant Professor of Biomaterials at Tulane University and Louisiana State University, New Orleans, USA, 1982-1983. From 1982-1988 he was Associate Professor and co-director of the Graduate Programme in Periodontal Prosthetics at the University of Zurich.

1988 to 2016 Dr. Strub has been Professor and Medical Director at the Clinic for Dental Prosthodontics at the Albert-Ludwigs-University in Freiburg, Germany

He was a Visiting Clinical Professor of Fixed Prosthodontics at the Osaka University in Osaka, Japan in 1996. Since 2009 he is Visiting Professor at the University of Pennsylvania (Dept. Preventive and Restorative Sciences), Philadelphia, USA.
